Random Catch-up

12/27/2025

Hey! It's been a while since I've written here. It's been an eventful month, but I think I'm past the most eventful of it. I think I last wrote when my tooth had chipped on a random winter's day. I've since gone to the dentist and had it filled. It cost something like $130 for both teeth, which isn't great but also isn't that bad for american dental care. I now have perfectly straight front teeth with no chips or cracks in them. It was a little strange the first day, since there's less of a gap inbetween them than there used to be. If I press my tongue to them it makes me feel a little anxious, similar to that feeling some people may get when you're wearing shoes that are a little too tight. I am getting used to them though.

Additionally, my semester is over! I took an exam that gave me a couple elective credit hours, so I'm actually all done with my associate's degree! I think my graduation will be in May of next year, but I'm not too sure about that yet. School feels like one of the few things in my life that clearly marks the passage of time. It was almost two years ago that almost randomly decided that I wanted to go back to school. It feels like it's gone by fast, but not that fast, since it was a lot of work and stress at times. I'm gonna take a break for a semester and then get started on my Bachelor's degree. Hopefully that goes well too.

Since I've finished my semester and am taking a break, I suddenly have a lot more free time than I did before. I haven't been going to the gym lately, so I have no obligations right now outside of just going to work. I've been spending my time playing video games, practicing guitar, and additionally taking photos and editing them. I finally published some photos onto my Instagram page, which felt like a big deal. On one hand, it's sad that posting my art onto Instagram (of all places) was so difficult for so long, but photography is still a semi-new medium to me and sharing my work is always intimidating regardless of where I'm posting it. I plan to spend my time doing hobbies like photography, guitar, going to the gym, and playing games.

I've been playing some games recently. I might make a seperate post talking about some of the recent games I've played through lately, since I have some thoughts and reflections on them and no one to talk about them with. I've played through Yakuza 4, SteamWorld Dig, Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom, Mouthwashing, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and I am currently playing through Subnautica.

This post has been kinda all over the place and rant-y but sometimes that is all that will come out when you put the pen to paper.
